Yesterday evening, Barca manager Ronald Koeman and his representative Rob Jansen held a meeting with Joan Laporta to discuss his vision for Barcelona going forward.
Barca Director of football Mateu Alemany was also present at the meeting, which suggests that Barca may not necessarily be looking to sack Ronald Koeman but an adjustment to his current salary could be made, given their current financial predicament.
According to Marca, the discussion lasted less than 30 minutes and it is still unknown condition Koeman will stay or leave the Barca this summer.
Ronald Koeman was only appointed as Barca coach in August 2020 and guided the club to a 3rd-place finish in La Liga point table as well as lifting the Copa del Rey in April.
Koeman has always made clear that he intends to lead the team’s next campaigns, even though Barca president Laporta feels that this is now the end of a cycle for Barca.
