Antoine Griezmann is one of the players Barcelona are open to selling this summer, not because they are too disappointed with his performance but because they need money and the Frenchman is seen as a commodity.
As the 2021/22 season draws to a close Barca knows they need to improve the squad, but they have a few resources to work with, which means more changes will need to be made.
Therefore, most players are set to generate and generate revenue when the transfer market window opens.
Most of the names on the list are particularly surprising and are players who did not produce as much or played as well as they did, such as Samuel Umtiti, Junior Firpo, Matthew Fernandes, and Martin Braithwaite.
Griezmann’s case is different, however, as the coaching staff are happy with his role, and has been a key player for Ronald Koeman this season, with 18 goals and 12 assists.
According to Marca report says that Griezmann will be bought for economic reasons alone, with the club hoping to recoup the extra 120 million euros they paid him and avoid continuing to pay his high salary, which increases year on year.
All that is said, however, is that the future of France, as in Camp Nou, depends on Lionel Messi’s situation.
If Messi leaves, the club may choose to keep Griezmann, partly because Argentina’s salary will be out of the books and you could also lose an experienced, talented player and dressing room.
