The Dutchman is claiming one silver piece by way of the Copa del Rey, but Barca exited the last 16 of PSG in the UEFA Champions League and a 2-1 defeat to Celta Vigo at the weekend to end their La Liga title.

Ronald Koeman’s contract at Camp Nou does not expire until the end of next season, and he wants the team’s “full confidence” to continue to hold the reins until 2022.

The Blaugrana boss is expected to meet with President Joan Laporta at the end of the season to discuss his future, but according to Marca says the head of Barca thinks he fired Ronald Koeman before the start of next season.

However, the report says that releasing Koeman from his duties will only exacerbate Barca’s already bad financial situation, even though the former Everton and Netherlands manager is considered a “failure” for the club.

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi is thought to be the replacement of Koeman, despite signing a new contract with Qatari champions Al-Sadd last week.
