The Manchester City defender contract expires 2021 June, and Pep Guardiola has confirmed at the start of the season that he has chosen not to renew his contract.
Eric Garcia has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, who are close to signing him in the final knockout of the January transfer window ahead of the deal.
The journalist Fabrizio Romano says Eric Garcia has signed a pre-contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2026, and the 20-year-old has only eyes on returning to Catalonia this season.
Fabrizio Romano report also adds that Barca president Joan Laporta has provided a green light for the defender to arrive as a free transfer agent, and will be officially unveiled as a Barcelona player at the end of this campaign.
Eric Garcia was promoted to La Masia before signing for Manchester City in 2017 and has played 33 games for Guardiola’s side in all competitions.
