The Netherlands international has been out of the pitch since October after suffering a serious knee injury in a Merseyside derby match against Everton.
In addition to staying out of the rest of the season, the 29-year-old is battling to recover during the summer European Championship.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are determined to secure the future of one of their key men in the upcoming weeks.
The report says that Liverpool are willing to offer Van Dijk a £ 50million contract, a term expected by 2026.
Van Dijk is currently being held at Anfield until the end of the 2022-23 season.
