The Dutchman Ronald Koeman failing to lead Barcelona to the UEFA Champions League or La Liga in the 2020-21 season, speculation was rife with his future.
The former Dutch boss has already held brief talks with Barca president Laporta ahead of the new season, and a decision on his future will be taken 7-10 days from now.
According to the Spanish media, Laporta said: “As we open the door to reflect on Ronald Koeman, we have to analyze what went well and not so well the previous season.
“We want to honor the contract, we have put together the means we need to talk about now. We will continue to think about Ronald Koeman and then in a week or 10 days we will make a decision.”
Former Barca midfielder Xavi is thought to be the frontrunner when Ronald Koeman is sacked, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also been linked with a move as a Barca Coach.
