Ousmane Dembele used to make Catalan champions during the 2020-21 season, making 44 games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals, and provided 5 assists in the last season.
Ousmane Dembele then went to Euro 2020 with the French team but saw his tournament ending with Hungary on June 19, after suffering a serious knee injury.
Dembele has since undergone surgery, ending Man United’s chances of signing the striker in the transfer market window.
Dembele’s contract at Camp Nou is due to expire next June, however, and it is understandable that he is reluctant to sign a new contract with the terms on the table now.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the French agent may decide to delay negotiations to allow his client to agree to a pre-contract agreement with an outside club in January 2022.
The report also added that Manchester United are in the process of signing the young former Rennes player for a free transfer, with Juventus also keeping an eye on what is happening.
Ousmane Dembele has scored 30 goals and provided 21 assists in 118 games for Barcelona since joining the Catalan team from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017.
