The Argentine defender Cristian Romero and Leandro Paredes were both suspended from Argentina and Venezuela’s World Cup qualifiers on Thursday.

The Copa America champions will be without both Cristian Romero and Leandro Paredes in their match on 2 September. Cristian Romero was suspended after receiving a yellow card against Chile and a 2nd against Colombia.

The Leandro Paredes will also miss Venezuela’s games due to suspension. He received a yellow card against Ecuador and another, like Romero, was up against Colombia. Both players will be available in Brazil on Sunday, September 5 for their second World Cup qualifier 2022.

During the Copa America, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni used German Pezzella or Lucas Martinez Quarta to replace Cristian Romero and Guido Rodriguez replaced Leandro Paredes in midfield.
