Following Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea, Inter Milan have been keen to lure the 24-year-old, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal believed to have expressed interest.
Lautaro Martinez will see his contract expire in 2023, but Marotta has confirmed that the club is in direct talks with Argentina to extend his current contract.
Marotta told Sky Sports News in Italy.”We are in talks to extend the contract of Lutaro Martinez like other players. We are confident – there is no problem in the terms of the contract”.
Marotta is hopeful that the Scudetto champions could tie two Croatian players Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic to new contracts, as their current contracts expire next summer.
Lautaro Martinez enjoyed Inter’s excellent season last season, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists in 48 games in all competitions.
