Leo Messi: We’ve been here three days, why wait for the match to start?

Lionel Messi and Neymar are seen as play is interrupted after Brazilian health officials objected to the participation of three Argentine players they say broke quarantine rules

Leo Messi was well aware that the world was watching scenes from Brazil vs Argentina, which were stopped when the authorities disrupted the match in the fourth minute due to the presence of English Premier League players Emiliano Martinez, Cristian Romero, Gio Lo Celso, and Emiliano Buendia.

They were accused of filling out papers incorrectly and avoiding solitary confinement when they arrived in Brazil because they had been in England in recent days.

Argentina captain Leo Messi, instead of disputing any of the allegations, was outraged by the intervention of the Brazilian authorities.

“We’ve been here for three days,” he said while addressing a group of officials.

“Were they waiting for the game to start? Why not warn of this before or at the hotel?

“They could explain this and it will be filtered. Now, the world is watching.”
