The Bosnian international Miralem Pjanic has joined the Turkish club Besiktas on a 1-year loan contract after failing to play for FC Barcelona in his first season at the club.
The transfer market window in Spain was closed on August 31. It is still open in Turkey, meaning a deal could be signed to take Bosnia to Istanbul.
Miralem Pjanic was a player that Barcelona was trying to sell this summer in an effort to reduce their salaries and was not involved in Ronald Koeman’s plans for the upcoming season.
He played 30 games in the 2020/21 season, starting 13 games and completing 90 minutes just 5 times.
Ronald Koeman preferred three of Sergio Busquets, Frankie de Jong, and Pedri in the middle of the pitch as Bosnian midfielder failed to meet expectations at the Camp Nou.
He has not been included in LaLiga’s first two games this season and, although he was in the third team, he has not been very warm.
The move comes after Panjic failed to secure a return to Italy, where he enjoyed a successful Rome and Juventus victory.
