Barcelona Coach Ronald Koeman’s appreciation of Dutch international Luuk de Jong seems to have reached new heights, with the Barcelona manager describing his fellow man as one – in some cases – more dangerous than Neymar.
Catalan giant signing De Jong raised eyebrows on the final day of the transfer at some point, but Ronald Koeman is happy that the forward is working under his command.
Koeman told the NOS”When it comes to the cross, Luuk is more dangerous than Neymar,”.
“He’s a different person who plays better than we have, and I think every team should have someone like him.”
Koeman went on to say that he expressed his desire to sign the striker last year rather than when the club received his signature over the line.
Koeman said.“I told the club last year,”
“I wanted to be able to change my key players. If the game calls for someone like Luuk, he will play.
“We lost already Antoine Griezmann on the last day of the window and only had three leaders.
“I first contacted Luuk on August 8 and, even before that, I wondered why Barcelona didn’t have such a guy.”
