There are reports of Barcelona trying to revive Gavi. Spanish media ‘Marca’ says the board has made significant progress in negotiations and, now, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports on Twitter that the academy player will sign a five-year contract until June 2026.

Barca’s plan is to significantly increase his salary and purchase clause. In fact, the plan is for his salary to continue to rise as time goes on. If his level continues to rise significantly, he will continue to be rewarded as he is still the most important player on the team.

According to ‘Marca’ also added that Chelsea, the leading striker of the footballer so far, are not considering paying for his purchase clause, at least for now. This is good news for Barca as it will be calm when it comes to negotiations.

Gavi’s current contract with Barcelona expires in June 2023. A three-year extension will ensure that the key player under Xavi Hernandez will remain. The coach also showed his confidence as he started the player against Espanyol and Benfica.
