Neymar was forced to injure himself when Paris Saint-Germain beat Saint-Etienne 3-1 in Ligue 1 at the weekend, something French football fans are accustomed to seeing during his time there.
The Brazilian no.10 walked out of the stadium crying out for help after being challenged late in the game, and this is not the first time he has been the victim of such a tragedy in France.
In 2017/18 – his first season available – Neymar suffered a string of injuries that left him out of action. He missed three months that year after a serious challenge, and in January 2019 he was injured and was out for 85 days.
The season got off to a bad start as he missed the first three games of Ligue 1, but has played almost everything since.
Neymar’s total now stands at 74 missed games, with 91 where all aspects are considered without suspension.
