Sergio Ramos has endured a difficult start in Paris Saint-Germain, having yet to play for his new club due to a series of injuries.
The former Real Madrid captain appears to be back on track as he was included in Manchester City’s midweek Champions League defeat but admits the process has been difficult.
“Finally, it is a difficult time, a lonely time – hours in the gym with a physiotherapist, and a fitness trainer,” he said in an interview with Amazon Prime Video.
“You always have bad thoughts sometimes that make you doubt [yourself],”
“I believed in myself and worked hard. I focused on restoring the club to the confidence it had in me. I hope I can reach my best level,” he added.
Despite his recent problems, the 35-year-old believes he can still play at a high level for a long time now.
“I think I can continue to play [some] for four or five years,” he said.
“The most important thing is that my head stays together.
“I hope I don’t have any more physical problems.”
