During the crisis of Xavi’s attack, Ferran Torres is heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in January, despite Blaugrana’s financial problems.
Manchester City are said to be seeking 50 million euros (£ 42.5m) in direct funding to allow the sale of the 21-year-old next month, but both clubs are reportedly at a distance of £ 13m in terms of ratings.
According to El Nacional, Barca are willing to pay 30 million euros (£ 25.5m) to Torres in advance and will want to pay another portion until the summer, which Man City does not want much.
The report also adds that Barca are hoping their former manager will “mediate” with Ferran Soriano to provide a green light, or Torres is expected to leave until the new year due to a broken foot.
The Spaniard arrived at the Etihad only from Valencia last summer and has 16 goals and 4 assists in 43 Premier League games.
