Bernardo Silva double sinks Watford to send Manchester City top

It was business as usual for Manchester City on Saturday, the evening when they went to Watford to win 3-1.

Bernardo Silva came out on top again, scoring two goals after Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side. Cucho Hernandez returned to Watford late, but it was too late.

Sterling’s goal came just four minutes from time. Bernardo Silva played for Phil Foden on the left-wing, England then took control before sending the ball to Sterling with a header from close range.

Man City doubled their lead in the 31st minute, as Ilkay Gundogan’s ball was kept by Daniel Bachmann but fell to the feet of Bernardo Silva, who ran away from William Troost-Ekong before being able to score with an acute angle.

Just an hour later, Foden ran into Kiko Femenia and punched a shot that hit the post and hit the postback.

Then a few minutes later, Bernardo Silva hit something high. The 27-year-old found the ball on the edge of the box and ran to Danny Rose before switching to his left foot, where he opened his body and shot in the upper left corner making it 3-0. City.

Watford managed to score in the 74th minute through Cucho Hernandez, his shot came back to him from the post and he followed to score.

Joshua King also had a chance to score in the final, but Man City ended up scoring three points with just one point ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League. Watford, on the other hand, sits in 17th place, three points above the collapse zone.
