The future of Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in doubt, and the Gabonese midfielder has not been seen in recent weeks.
The 32-year-old was left out of the squad for the Gunners’ last five games, as he continued to run well this season, winning five, one of which was the Carabao Cup quarter-final. clashed with League One team, Sunderland.
Now, however, Mikel Arteta has begun to discard the advice he can continue if his behavior improves and his desire is renewed.
“He was not selected for today’s game,” Arteta said when asked about Aubameyang on Saturday evening. “We’ll take it game by game. That was a decision.”
Aubameyang is not expected to appear in Arteta’s squad until after the African Cup of Nations where he will captain Gabon in Group C where he will face Ghana, Morocco, and Comoros.
Arsenal faced an astonishing feat without the player earning the most money, with Alexandre Lacazette one of the top scorers in their 5-0 win over Norwich City on Boxing Day.
Bukuka Saka (two), Emile Smith Rowe, and Martin Odegaard were all involved in goals that day, and their free-kick was unlikely to be disrupted for Aubameyang to return to XI.
