Lluis Carrasco, manager of Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s successful running campaign, said Erling Haaland was on his way to Blaugrana.
The Norwegian international is said to be a prime target of Laporta this summer despite how the club will finance the deal.
However, with many of Europe’s top clubs looking for the Norwegian young striker, his signing could be a major blow to the struggling Catalans, and Carrasco’s comments have sparked speculation that it could happen.
“Haaland goes to Barcelona,” Carasco said in Gerard Romero’s exhibition ‘El Jijantes’.
“I know the president loves Erling Haaland, he knows he is a symbolic player, a referee, and a flag for this project and he could manage European football for years to come.”
He then described how Haaland would come as a Barcelona star, before “it would not be so [if he could move] to Real Madrid.”
