Eden Hazard is not part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for the season and Real Madrid are set to part ways with Chelsea in January.
The Belgian midfielder traveled to Saudi Arabia with some of his teammates but did not feature in the two matches played by Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana.
Reports from his home country indicate that Hazard’s departure is possible in the coming days, but Los Blancos know it will not be easy to find a club that will not pay for his entire salary until the end of the season.
However, Real Madrid understands that Hazard’s condition is not ideal for a player or a club and although he may not have caused problems in the locker room, his lack of playing time could lead to difficult situations for the team.
Hazard did not take part in the celebrations after Real Madrid’s Supercopa de Espana victory. The 31-year-old striker is left behind by both Marco Asensio and Rodrygo Goes in Ancelotti’s program after Vinicius Junior rose to prominence in the starting line-up.
Hazard played 45 minutes for Getafe after three consecutive games against Cadiz, Athletic Club, and Alcoyano, but failed to perform well.
Asensio’s injury and the absence of Gareth Bale could give the Belgian striker a new chance to return to the Copa del Rey match at Elche on Thursday but his future remains uncertain.
