Diego Maradona’s son, Diego Sinagra, has said he believes Lionel Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to Barcelona at the end of the season. The Naples native was speaking to Catalan media who had planned for the city ahead of Barcelona’s Europa League match against Napoli tonight at Diego Armando Maradona.
Messi left Barcelona for PSG in the summer after his contract expired at the Camp Nou and it became clear that the Catalan club could not offer him a new one. Messi has joined his old friend Neymar Junior at Parc des Princes and although he has not played badly in any way he has not reached the level we know he can.
“Which club would not miss him? They are doing well for me, ”Sinagra told Diario Sport. “But I am sure Lionel Messi will return to Barcelona. Maybe this coming summer. He doesn’t look happy [at PSG]. He is obviously a great player and if you play the way he can play anywhere in the world. But he should be in Barcelona, without a doubt. ”
Sinagra, 35, was born in 1986, the year Maradona led Argentina to the World Cup in Mexico and was a senior in Napoli. Sinagra was the result of an extramarital affair between Maradona and Cristiana Sinagra, a Neapolitan woman. Sinagra is also a footballer and currently owns Napoli United, the fifth-largest club in Italian football.
