Sergio Aguero intends to go to the World Cup in Qatar and hopes to be part of the Argentine staff.
Former striker Argentine Aguero suffered chest pains during a game against Deportivo Alaves in October and was ruled out with a heart attack ending his career.
However, the 33-year-old still wants to be part of Argentina’s campaign in Qatar this year and hopes someone will play for him.
“I’m going to the World Cup. We’re going to have a meeting this week. I want to be there,” he told Radio 10 of Argentina.
“The idea is for me to join the coaching staff. I spoke to [head coach Lionel] Scaloni and [Argentina Football Association president] Claudio Tapia.
“We have to try to open it to see what can be done.”
Aguero has joined Barcelona in the hope of playing with his best friend Lionel Messi after the two helped Argentina finish 28 years of waiting for the 2021 Copa America international.
However, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner ended up in Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic way.
Messi has come under fire following his display in the Champions League defeat of Real Madrid in the first leg of the last 16, which was decided by a lone goal by Kylian Mbappe after the 34-year-old failed to turn a penalty.
“How are the French media going to kill Messi? Leo played well. Were they watching the game back? Leo is always playing five levels up,” Aguero said.
