Cristiano Ronaldo is still an influential player at 37 years old and, despite Manchester United’s problems, is the leading scorer with 15 goals this season.
However, France World Cup winner Frank Leboeuf has urged the Portuguese midfielder to consider withdrawing from the match.
Ronaldo is clearly not a player who has ever been at Real Madrid, and the Frenchman feels that it would be better for him if he quit his job at the top rather than expand his career and see his potential dwindle.
“You know what? I think there was a time when you had to think: ‘What do I do with my life and my job’,” the Frenchman told ESPN.
“And maybe it’s time for Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of his career to ask himself and have a conversation with him, and perhaps the rest of his family, to know what to do with his entire career, if there is a future for his career.
“I don’t want to look at Ronaldo and feel sorry for him, because he’s been on top for so many years.
“I don’t want him to be a normal player. He’s been a great player for a long time.””I would rather give up his career at the top instead of trying to play for two or three years and not be the player he was.”
