Mauricio Pochettino will urge Manchester United to prioritize the move of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to become the club’s next manager this summer, reports The Telegraph.

The Argentine midfielder is one of the top players on United’s short-term manager list. There is uncertainty as to whether he will continue in Paris Saint-Germain beyond the current campaign.

Pochettino has publicly stated that the club’s management will decide his fate, and it is now rumored that he could become a key player to become United’s next manager.

If that happens, the 49-year-old could encourage the board to pursue Kane’s services following their strong working relationship at Tottenham in the past.

Kane is set to reunite, but that did not happen in Paris Saint-Germain last summer with the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

They could be linked with a move to Old Trafford next season, but United may need to pay the club’s record amount as Spurs have rejected £ 130 million from Manchester City.

Kane has had an outstanding performance with Spurs so far. He has scored 236 goals in just 368 games for the team north of London.

Last season he saw good in him. The 28-year-old scored 33 goals in 49 games, but also opened up a chance for his teammates with a good 17 assistants.

His performance has sunk in this category as he has only 15 goals and three assistants in 32 games. Although the numbers are still impressive, he has scored just five goals in 20 league games.

Guessing has had an impact on his performance, but he is still a top-class striker, likely to turn the game over to the Red Devils in the next five years or so.

United have created a number of scoring opportunities in the last few months, but the inability to convert others has seemed costly in the form of a draw and a defeat.

Kane will make a big difference next to Cristiano Ronaldo. He may be tempted to change teams if Spurs fail to end the 14-year cup drought.

The striker’s current contract expires in the summer of 2024. Spurs may consider taking the money if they do not have plans to renew the contract.
