Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said it would be “honorable” to play with Erling Haaland in Barcelona.
Aubameyang successfully moved to Camp Nou with a free transfer in January after the cancellation of his Arsenal contract during a dispute with Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gabonese striker could face competition from the Borussia Dortmund Haaland player next season, with Barca among a number of clubs reportedly interested in signing one of the hottest spots in world football.
Last month Barca president Joan Laporta did not rule out a move, despite the club’s financial problems, saying Los Cules was “still a point of reference for the transfer market”.
If Haaland arrives it could affect Aubameyang’s playing time but the 32-year-old would like to have a Norwegian star as a partner.
“I’m always ready for a healthy competition with my teammates, so it would be an honor to play with him if he ends up joining Barca,” said Aubameyang, who scored a hat-trick in their 4-1 win over Valencia in LaLiga. on Sunday, he told SPORTS.
“I am not a coach, but I think Haaland is a great player.
“He scores a lot of goals, he has a very good body and he is fast. He is very big, but he runs very fast. He is amazing.”
