Real Madrid will face Manchester United in the race to sign Mauricio Pochettino, and the Paris Saint-Germain manager is expected to leave the French club at the end of the season.

Pochettino has been at PSG for just over a year, but there are serious doubts as to whether he deserves a job. During the first half of his first season in the capital, he failed to lead Les Parisiens to the Ligue 1 title and also failed in Champions League games.

Although their league form has been much better in this campaign, PSG are out of the Coupe de France, and the Last 16 Champions League clash with Real remains.

As reported 90 minutes earlier this month, Pochettino is confident he will leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the campaign and will not miss out on offers if he does. He was one of Man Utd’s most thought-provoking names when interim manager Ralf Rangnick traveled to the top of the summer.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Pochettino could once again attract Real’s development. Los Blancos tried to put him on board last summer but were unsuccessful, eventually settling on Carlo Ancelotti.

After a good start to the season, Ancelotti’s position looks uncertain. There is a growing rift between the Italian club and club fans and he will not be able to change their Champions League game against PSG which is likely to continue in the summer.

Florentino Perez still loves Pochettino and will no doubt try to bring him in as a manager if he is available.

Tottenham could try to lure their former manager this summer again, with the club still far from making sure Antonio Conte has been in it for a long time.

The news is shocking for United, although the former Spurs man is not the only one who will be the head coach they are considering. Revealed by 90min last week, Brighton’s Graham Potter is the latest name on their shortlist, and interest remains with Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers.
