Arsenal have ‘contacted’ Real Madrid regarding the departure of Eden Hazard. Eden Hazard has endured a nightmare of 3 years since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu for star money, due to injuries and negligence that have undermined his influence.
His fortunes continued this season as the Belgian midfielder holds just one assist in less than 700 minutes of La Liga football.
According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal may be ready to give Hazard a fresh start. They reported that the Gunners had made “initial communications” about a possible deal with Mikel Arteta who is said to be willing to sign.
Hazard may need to have his salary cut to move to north London and his arrival will not be in line with Arsenal’s latest recruitment policy. In previous seasons the Gunners used to sign young players to improve them. The 31-year-old high-paid man will appear to be in conflict with the likes of technical director Edu.
Hazard has been linked with a move to Newcastle United and it remains to be seen whether the Magpies will sign him again.
The striker has been linked with a move away from Chelsea, although the club’s ownership status makes this impossible at the moment.
