Barcelona came from behind to beat Elche with second-half goals from Ferran Torres and Memphis Depay earning them the three points.
The revitalized Barça were looking to join Sevilla in 2nd place and did just that with Ousmane Dembélé returning to the first XI a few weeks after coming off the bench.
It was Dembélé who had the best chance at first but the France international swung his effort at the edge of the area over the bar.
Xavi’s team was on hand but struggled to create more chances in the first half. They will pay for that lack of skill during the break as Fidel locks in the net about the last minute of the first half.
After the break, Ferran Torres joined the game and made a splash as he finished off a Jordi Alba cross.
The Blaugrana, arguably, got the nose before as the referee awarded a penalty after a VAR test that Memphis Depay converted.
