Luis Suarez sent a message of support to Lionel Messi and Neymar after the Paris Saint-Germain duo were attacked by their fans.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 2-0 at the Champions League in Real Madrid midweek, sparking outrage at the return to the home game on Sunday.
Messi and Neymar were mocked during PSG’s 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Bordeaux, in which Neymar scored the team’s second goal after a move that included a fine split from Messi’s ball.
Messi has not enjoyed his excellent campaign since arriving in the French capital, scoring just two goals in 60 attempts (18 of which he intended) in Ligue 1 this season, though he has beaten eight times in the league, more than any other. the player in the top five European leagues.
The treatment of his former Barcelona teammates prompted Atletico Madrid striker Suarez to show his support for his Instagram account, accusing fans of having “no memory”.
“As usual, football has no memory,” wrote the 35-year-old, accompanied by a photo of the three players.
“[I am] always with you. I love you.”
The three Messi-Suarez-Neymar ‘MSN’ enjoyed a fruitful relationship during their time with the Catalan giants, scoring 81 LaLiga goals in a stunning 2014-15 season. They led the Blaugrana to LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League in that campaign.
Neymar’s goal against Bordeaux means he has scored eight goals in Ligue 1, the most league goals he has scored against any other team since arriving in Europe in 2013.
A major victory at Parc des Princes also means PSG have won seven of Ligue 1’s nine straight games following their exit from the Champions League since taking over Qatar in 2011.
