The Egyptian international wants to stay at Anfield, but wants a tough contract with the Reds, knowing he could get “crazy” money elsewhere, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand at Gazzetta Dello Five, Romano said he was beginning to hear that Salah might not end up signing a new contract with Liverpool.
Merseyside giants will hopefully change that, but it does not sound like much hope right now, with Fabrizio Romano noting that the club is determined not to disrupt its current salary structure…
Liverpool will do well not to deviate from what has been a successful strategy for them, but at the same time, it seems Salah is a good enough player to discard the law.
The former Roman has been fascinated since joining Liverpool in 2017, and it’s hard to imagine that they could find someone to replace him without spending a fortune, so why not put that money into giving him the salary he wants?
