Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to bounce back from a hamstring injury sustaining Premier League title against Manchester City on April 10.

Alexander-Arnold exited the FA Cup quarterfinals on Sunday against Nottingham Forest and has withdrawn from the England squad due to an injury sustained in a 2-0 win over Arsenal.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the defender will be out of action for ‘weeks’, but The Times notes that Alexander-Arnold is working to secure a return on-time trip to the Etihad in April.

This game is charged as a trophy cutter. Right now, City sit top but sit on just one point at Liverpool, who will expect to keep the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s boys when they host Watford after the international break.

Alexander-Arnold will miss Watford’s game and is expected to miss the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Benfica, while Klopp is adamant he will not jeopardize the strength of the player who has been part of his trophy. Push.

“I don’t know any player who plays like Trent in the world, so it will be difficult to find a replacement,” said Klopp.

He continued: “We will see how long it will take. Closing Trent is difficult but possible. We did that. SinoJoe [Gomez]. In theory, we can also change the system. These are the kinds of things. So we have a few options, but you are right, you have a great influence.

“Looking back at the time Milly [James Milner] had to step in she did amazingly well. It just has to be found and that’s fine. Maybe we have a much smaller solution. ”
