Bayern Munich and Canadian star Alphonso Davies has become the latest figure to take the picture of ‘his name’ Harry Maguire, insisting that Cristiano Ronaldo should take his place as captain of Manchester United.
Maguire has endured a difficult season after a successful 2020/21 campaign for the club and the country and has become the spark of criticism for Man United this season.
The 29-year-old received the support of a number of top-flight players after being scolded by a Wembley-based team while on duty in England last month, and Maguire’s role as Man United captain has been in the news this season.
Davies was broadcasting live the opening package of EA Sports’ FIFA 22 when he received Maguire’s Senior Team card and started talking about being captain of Man Utd.
“Can you imagine … no, take this …. you are Ronaldo, one of the greatest players who ever lived in the 21st century. And whose name is your captain, Harry Maguire is your captain. what do you say to him but you want to get leadership? Bro, “Davies said in disbelief.
After such turmoil, Davies added that he did not mean to disrespect Maguire, but feels that Ronaldo should be captain at Old Trafford.
“And I’m not against Harry Maguire but Ronaldo should get the belt,” he added.
