Manchester City are willing to spend around £120m to bring coveted Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland to the club, according to a report.

At just 21 years old, Haaland’s rise has been the weather for the past few seasons and he is still one of the most sought-after players in the world.

Despite suffering a hamstring injury this season, the Norwegian international has made 80 appearances in 84 games in Dortmund since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.

Manchester City, one of the clubs where Haaland’s father Alf-Inge spent time as a player, and Real Madrid emerged as the top scorers this summer, with his release of a £ 75 million release clause expiring at the end of April. .

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, City have already put the player and his current team on the table, and the amount could be more than the cheapest release clause.

Cityzens are set to pay Dortmund a € 75m release (£ 62.6m), plus another € 70m (£ 58.5m) bonus.

If Haaland writes down the subject of their five-year contract, he will earn £ 25m a year – about £ 500,000 a week. That would take the total cost of the contract into the potential £ 245m, although renewal of the improved conditions will be a near guarantee.

there are still many clubs still vying for Haaland’s signature, although City and Real Madrid appear to be ahead. Bayern Munich are still optimistic and uncertainty remains for Robert Lewandowski’s future, as revealed in March.

It has previously been reported that Los Blancos want to wait until next year to sign Haaland as they prioritize the free signing of Kylian Mbappe this summer, and the arrival of a Frenchman who may prescribe significant salaries, agency fees and bonuses. However, there are growing suggestions that Mbappe could re-commit to Paris Saint-Germain instead.
