Mohamed Salah does not want to give any updates on the progress of his negotiations with Liverpool regarding a possible contract renewal.

The Egyptian midfielder insisted he was focused on achieving the club’s goals when asked if he was confident of extending his contract with the Reds.

“I can’t say yes, I can’t say no, but I have said many times what I want,” Salah told Sky Sports.

“But I will not be able to dig deep into my contract now because the situation is very serious.

“The team needs to win and I won’t just go into the news and just talk about my contract. I’m just focused on the team, that’s all.”

Salah’s contract lasts until 2023 and Liverpool could risk losing him on a free transfer next summer if they are unable to renew his contract.

“Not [there is] much [you can] say but honestly, but what I can say is that there are a lot of things that people don’t know,” Salah added.

“I can’t imagine myself talking about my situation, we are at a very important time in the team so I have to just talk about the team, and focus on what comes with the team which is very important.

“That’s all I can say. I hope we’ll have hope and see what happens.”

Back in December, Salah rejected a promise of 400,000 pounds a week, reportedly wanting half a million a week to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary at Manchester United.

Many clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have emerged as potential strikers after Salah rejected Liverpool’s offer, but recent reports suggest the Egyptian striker has reduced his salary following the club’s popularity with coach Jurgen Klopp when Egypt failed to arrive in the country. 2022 World Cup.
