Tite is expected to part with Brazil after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has already spoken to Pep Guardiola about stepping into the shoes of the 60-year-old coach as Selecao coach.
Brazil are currently making all efforts to achieve their main goal, which is to win the World Cup, but at the same time making plans for the future of the national team.
Globo Esporte reported that Tite would leave the club after the World Cup, a few weeks after CBF director Juninho Paulista told MACA that the Brazilian coach would “probably leave” after the tournament.
Guardiola is widely considered to be Tite’s successor after Ednaldo Rodrigues became president of the CBF at the end of March.
CBF members have agreed that Tite’s replacement will come from abroad, automatically considering the Manchester City manager as a suitable candidate for the role.
January or summer of 2023
CBF has already reached out to Guardiola’s brother and agent, Pere, to offer the Catalan coach a four-year contract until the 2026 World Cup.
In the event that Guardiola writes in the above-mentioned agreement, he will be earning about 12 million euros after taxes, which is less than the 20m euros he earns at Sky Blues.
CBF members have high hopes that Guardiola could become the new Selecao coach. The Catalan coach’s contract with Manchester City will continue until 2023.
So, one of the main questions is whether he will leave this summer or stay next season and see his contract.
