Aston Villa are ready to hold talks with Luis Suarez and his representatives about a return to the Premier League.
The Uruguayan international will leave Atletico Madrid at the end of his contract this summer, playing his final thrilling match at Wandra Metropolitano on Sunday night. Although he turned 35 earlier this year, it is believed that he was very excited to receive his help.
There are a number of clubs from North and South America who are determined to bring him back across the Atlantic Ocean, as he began moving to Europe in 2006. But it is believed that the former Liverpool and Barcelona player still wants to stay in Europe.
Former Liverpool player Luis Suarez teammate Steven Gerrard is now considering a move to Aston Villa.
Steven Gerrard is set to undergo major surgery this summer and has already completed his first contract when Philippe Coutinho put a pen in the paper on a permanent deal following his initial loan spell. Along with Steven Gerrard, Philippe Coutinho also played with Luis Suarez at Liverpool.
However, Aston Villa is not the only club interested in free agents soon.
Luis Suarez’s agents are believed to be seeking interest from other parts of Spain, France, and Turkey – but he is thought to be interested in seeing if it is possible to go to England and the opportunity to work with Steven Gerrard, in particular, is expected to interest him.
Luis Suarez joined Liverpool in January 2011 and left in 2014 when he left Barcelona. He then spent six successful years in Catalonia, before moving to Atletico in 2020.
