Karim Benzema also revealed on Thursday night why he portrayed himself as a legend of Real Madrid and one of the leading scorers in the club’s history.

His opening goal for Los Blancos in a 6-0 win over Levante was a milestone in his team’s history.

His goal against Levante was 323 for Real Madrid, who saw him equal to Raul Gonzalez’s record as the second-highest scorer in the club’s history.

He is now behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 451 goals while at Real Madrid.

Benzema is the third Real Madrid goal scorer in LaLiga history, with 219 goals after 228 for Raul and 312 for Ronaldo.

The 34-year-old man is getting better with age. He has now scored 44 goals in all competitions this season, surpassing his total of 32 goals in the 2011/12 and 2020/21 seasons.

He has scored 425 goals (323 for Real Madrid, 66 for Lyon, and 36 for France), making him France’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Thierry Henry in 411.

Benzema is on his way to 400 goals

It took Benzema five years and five months from his start in 2009 to score his 100th Real Madrid goal, against Real Betis in January 2014.

He doubled that number on November 7, 2018, against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.

It took him three years and two months to reach 300 goals by hitting the braces against Valencia on January 8, 2021, and now he is looking forward to his next century.

Historic appearance record

In addition to his impressive goals, he has achieved 603 appearances for Real Madrid against Levante.

He has surpassed Fernando Hierro’s total in 601 games against Manchester City and is now sixth on Real Madrid’s list of regular players.

The French follow Santillana (645), Sergio Ramos (671), Manolo Sanchis (710), Iker Casillas (725) and Raul (741).

He has played 414 games for LaLiga Santander, 122 in the Champions League, 44 in the Copa del Rey, 11 in the SuperCopa de Espana, eight in the Club World Cup and 4 in the Super Cup.
