Ousmane Dembele’s future remains a mystery, even as the 2021/22 season draws to a close.
Barcelona’s winger’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign and, with the exception of Xavi Hernandez’s desire to stay, no renewal has been agreed.
Ousmane Dembele was about to leave the club before Xavi took over, but the Catalan coach has temporarily found a way to get the best out of the Frenchman. However, he has since returned to normal.
Now RMC Sport reports that representatives of the 24-year-old have been in constant contact with Paris Saint-Germain since the January transfer window, and the French side have put a proposal on the table for him.
However, it has been reported that Dembele is awaiting further information on the project at PSG before making a commitment. In particular, he wants to know if Kylian Mbappe will be at Parc des Princes next season, and who will replace Mauricio Pochettino as head coach this summer.
Some stores have claimed that French giants offer 17 million euros a year to Ousmane Dembele, an amount Barcelona cannot match.
Ousmane Dembele could still stay at the Camp Nou, however. Barcelona CEO Matthew Alemany is expected to meet with the player’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, to try to secure a deal, but they are still frustrated by their financial situation.
