Bayern Munich have reportedly turned down Barcelona’s latest offer for wantaway striker Robert Lewandowski.
The latest update comes from Bild in Germany who thinks Bundesliga champions are not impressed with Barca’s bid of 40 million euros and 5 million euros in addition. It looks like Bayern will not sell anything for less than 50 million euros.
It is not yet clear whether Barcelona are willing to go ahead and improve their bid, especially if they wait a year to sign Robert Lewandowski for a free transfer.
The news comes amid speculation that Robert Lewandowski may not be available for pre-season training to try to move forward. The Poland international has spoken out in public several times and said he thought his Bayern Munich season was over.
Maik Barthel, the striker’s former agent, has told Bild that he believes Lewandowski may decide to take action. He said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Robert didn’t show up for Bayern’s preseason.”
Bayern Munich will return for training on July 8, and the first batch of Barcelona players are expected to return on Monday, July 4, and a week later.
