Real Madrid players have resumed training at Valdebebas, with Karim Benzema the only one missing from the group.
Although the Frenchman is not expected to arrive until July 19, it means he will be back in time for Real Madrid’s tour of the United States.
Los Blancos will face the Las Vegas Clasico, part of the Soccer Champions Tour, three days after his arrival.
However, Benzema is already training hard on holiday, although Carlo Ancelotti wants him to get as much rest as possible after a season that has made him one of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or.
With Luka Jovic gone and Mariano the only striker available behind Benzema, Ancelotti knows he can’t afford to see his star man go down and wants him back with full batteries.
The Italian is also keeping an eye on the future as Benzema, like Madrid’s other international players, leaves for the World Cup in Qatar in November.
Real Madrid will face Club America on July 26 (early morning of July 27 in Spain) in San Francisco, with the third and final match of the American tour taking place on July 30 (July 31 in Spain) against Juventus.
After that, Real Madrid will return to Spain to prepare for the European Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 10.
