The incident took place at Goodison Park last season where the Manchester United star smashed the phone from the hands of an autistic Everton fan.

The verdict is in for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is in the midst of his Manchester United exit. In April last season, CR7 was all over the tabloids when the Portuguese star was filmed slapping a mobile phone out of the hands of an Everton fan after a Premier League game against Everton.

That fan was Jacob Harding, who is autistic and was reportedly just trying to take pictures of some of his favorite players. Angry over the Red Devils’ 1-0 loss to Everton, Ronaldo was not having it, Ronaldo later sought to rectify the incident and apologized for his actions.

Earlier this month, the former Real Madrid star was questioned by police over the incident and the final verdict was released today.

Cristiano Ronaldo cautioned by England police

In a statement issued by Merseyside Police: “We can confirm that a 37-year-old man voluntarily attended and was interviewed under caution in relation to charges of assault and criminal damage.

“The charge relates to an incident following Everton’s football match against Manchester United at Goodison Park on Saturday 9 April.

“The matter was dealt with in the form of a conditional caution. The matter is now closed.”

Ronaldo will compensate Harding for destroying his phone and regardless it was never accepted internally by Manchester United. Ronaldo, who is a very charitable person, released a statement after the incident in which he apologized for his behavior and tried to offer the family the opportunity to go to Old Trafford to see Manchester United play.
