Robert Lewandowski has won over the Camp Nou: It took just two games

Robert Lewandowski’s legacy is undisputed. One only has to look at his numbers and titles, both collectively and individually.

However, his signing for Barcelona raised some doubts, mainly due to his age. At 34, he is not exactly a young man, and spending €50 million on Barcelona in the financial crisis was considered by some to be excessive.

Immediate results

Three games were enough to dispel all these theories. The Pole burst onto the scene at the Camp Nou.

There are players who have a natural scoring instinct and Lewandowski is right there.

After missing a shot against Rayo Vallecano in the first leg, some doubters began to emerge.

Top scorer

But it was a false alarm. In two games, he dispelled all those theories about the inappropriateness of his signing. In just three matches, he became the leader of the scorers table.

He is joint ‘Pichichi’ along with Borja Iglesias, both on four goals. His goal-scoring average is already in line with what he has achieved in Germany and with Barcelona superstars in recent years such as Leo Messi.

The Pole averages a goal for Barcelona every 67 minutes, which is more than a goal per game.

Opening the scoring

In addition, he has another of the qualities of the best strikers: he is the one who tends to open the scoring. He did it last week at Real Sociedad when he scored with less than a minute left.

He was also the first to score yesterday when he capitalized on a good pass from Raphinha. His finish at the far post was excellent. But the second one was more impressive.

Ousmane Dembele set him up with the perfect ball to control inside the box and score with a subtle backheel. A spectacular striker who, as Jordi Cruyff pointed out, gives the team much more than he is always demanding.
