Christophe Galtier has not felt the need to approach Kylian Mbappe about his role in a saga involving Paul Pogba and his brother Mathias.
Mathias posted videos online last week promising to release “big revelations” about Paul, his agent, and France team-mate Mbappe.
In Mathias’ posts on Twitter, he claimed that Paul sought out a marabout to harm Mbappe through witchcraft.
In response, lawyers for Juventus midfielder Paulo issued a statement saying Mathias’ comments followed “threats and blackmail attempts by an organized gang against Paul Pogba”.
Mbappe has not commented on his unwitting role in the affair, although he was reported to have contacted both men.
Regardless, Galtier, his Paris Saint-Germain coach, is not concerned.
“Could it have an impact on his performance, on his mind? I don’t think so,” Galtier said. “And when I say I don’t think so, I don’t know because I haven’t discussed the topic with Kylian.
“I didn’t feel the need, he performs well in matches, he’s happy in training, he’s fresh.”
PSG may have their own problems to deal with after reports suggested there was tension between Luis Campos and Anter Henrique – the two men in charge of transfers – over the failure to secure permanent departures for a number of unwanted players.
Galtier laughed when asked directly about the relationship between Campos and Henrique, but his answer was not about the latter.
“Since I’ve been here, I’ve been in constant contact with the president and Luis Campos,” he said.
“We developed all the strategies and plans together.”
On the state of the squad, Galtier said: “With the president and Luis Campos, we focused on what we thought should change.
“I was very direct with the players. Many players left, many on loan, but for me it is important to work with the group.”
At the same press conference, Galtier confirmed that Keylor Navas – one of those expected to leave – will now be reintegrated into the squad and will “play a few games, like all the twos”.
