Neymar’s season in Ligue 1 has gotten off to a bang, with the Brazilian winger the top scorer in France’s premiere football competition, and this form has been carrier over to his national team as Neymar, despite enduring a knee injury scare during the lead up to Brazil’s game against Ghana, helped his team to a 3-0 win, providing two assists in the process.

While the Brazilian appears to have come into his own just ahead of the World Cup, which is excellent for a Brazil side heading into the competition as one of the favourites, things may not be so rosy at Paris Saint-Germain.

The relationship between Neymar and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe has always seemed frosty.

Despite Neymar’s big-money move from Barcelona for a transfer-record €222 million, it is Mbappe who is seen as the team’s talisman.

The fact that Mbappe is French also gave the impression that PSG valued their young forward more than the Brazilian, especially considering Neymar’s horrific injury record over the past few years.

The latest indicator that all may not be well between the pair came after Brazil’s game against Ghana when Neymar was asked about his relationship with Mbappe in the mixed zone.

After first answering the question in English with “I don’t understand”, after the question was clarified he replied “No…” and decided to leave.

This has led to much speculation, with many believing that the pair’s relationship still doesn’t exist.

This ambiguous response will further fan the flames of rumors that all is not well between the two teammates
