A sensational second-half performance from Tottenham saw them secure a comeback win at the Vitality Stadium.
Tottenham came from two goals down to earn a sensational 3-2 victory at Bournemouth on Saturday thanks to Rodrigo Bentancur’s stoppage-time winner.
Wales striker Kieffer Moore’s brace gave Bournemouth a two-goal lead in the Premier League clash, only for Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies to reply for the north London side.
Then, in the second minute of stoppage time, Bentancur scored what proved to be the winner and sent the traveling Spurs fans into ecstasy.
Spurs boss Antonio Conte indicated before the game that he had one eye on next week’s Champions League trip to Marseille and his side’s performance in the first hour suggested the same was true for them before a stunning comeback followed.
It was the home side who started the livelier, Moore heading just wide from a corner and Marcus Tavernier testing Hugo Lloris with a powerful strike in the opening four minutes.
The same duo combined to give the Cherries the lead in the 22nd minute after some excellent play from Dominic Solanke. Tavernier was released from the right and his cross found an unmarked Moore in the box to calmly finish with a first-time shot low to Lloris on the bottom left.
It took 36 minutes for Spurs to seriously threaten, with Son Heung-min flicking a flick from the right to head past Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi and hit the far post.
Bournemouth doubled their lead just four minutes into the second half when Moore outpaced Emerson Royal to get on the end of a poor ball from the right by Adam Smith and head wide of the bar.
Spurs halved the deficit just seven minutes later when Sessegnon pounced on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s through ball to fire past Mark Travers and wide of the far post, and equalized with 17 minutes remaining when Ivan Perisic’s corner from the right headed home. remote post from Davies.
It looked as though Son’s corner from the right found substitute Bentancur at the worst of times, whose initial header was blocked, but the Uruguayan kept his composure to lift the ball into the net to break Bournemouth hearts.
