Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is still interested in Cristiano Ronaldo and has floated a short-term deal in January.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is coming to a head, having stormed out of their midweek win over Tottenham.
Ronaldo was sanctioned and suspended by the club for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, but United boss Erik ten Hag reiterated that the Portuguese has a role to play at the club.
However, the 37-year-old has been frustrated with his form this season after trying to force his way through a tight season.
Chelsea are ready to offer Cristiano Ronaldo a January lifeline, with the club renewing their interest in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, according to the Sunday World.
Former manager Thomas Tuchel did not want to follow Blues owner Todd Boehly’s interest in Ronaldo in the last transfer window, but Chelsea are ready to move after the German’s departure, attracted by the Portuguese’s huge commercial appeal.
The report claims Chelsea have signed Ronaldo on a short-term deal until the end of the season with an option for another year. Ronaldo is prepared to take a pay cut to make the deal happen too.
