Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola remained non-committal on Erling Haaland’s availability for the Saturday visit of Brentford.
Haaland returned to action last weekend, coming on against Fulham with around half an hour to play and seeing one goal disallowed before scoring an injury time penalty to win the game 2-1.
Asked on Friday whether Haaland was fit for the midday kick-off, Guardiola said: “We’ll see, we’ll see. He’s training this afternoon, so we’ll see.”
If Haaland is feeling better, Guardiola added: “A little.”
Elsewhere, Phil Foden is pushing for a start in the final run-up to the World Cup after being a surprise substitute for three games on the spin. Foden’s England team-mate Kalvin Phillips is in contention and “ready” to play, but his colleague Kyle Walker is not “yet”.
Joao Cancelo is available after serving a one-match ban in the Carabao Cup.
Manchester City predicted XI: Ederson; Stones, Akanji, Ake, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Bernardo, Haaland, Foden
