Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will introduce Lionel Messi, Neymar and Paul Pogba to the franchise as part of a future update.

Lionel Messi, Neymar and Paul Pogba have been confirmed to appear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as part of a future update.

The trio of footballers have been teased by developer Activision to ‘suit up’ for appearances in Modern Warfare II, Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty Mobile – showing preview art in a post on social media.

Figures for Pogba and Neymar have already been leaked by dataminers on social media, although Messi’s appearance is yet to be revealed. Their performance is expected to coincide with the World Cup in Qatar.

Neymar and Messi are no strangers to the world of video games, with the Paris Saint-Germain duo being featured in PUBG earlier this year, while Neymar was featured in Fortnite as early as 2021.

Modern Warfare II was officially released on October 28th and quickly broke records for the franchise’s fastest launch in terms of revenue, with another boost expected later this month when Warzone 2.0 is released.

Messi and Neymar will play for Argentina and Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar, although France will be without Pogba due to injury.
