According to SportBild and Spanish media outlets, Barcelona have shown interest in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko. The 18-year-old striker is yet to sign a new deal at BVB with his current contract running out next summer.
In recent weeks, it has been reported that Moukoko has refused to sign a new deal and is demanding a significant increase in his wages. With negotiations between the two sides deadlocked, some of Europe’s top teams have shown interest in the Germany international.
The most notable was Chelsea from the Premier League, but Barcelona are now more interested. According to the report, Barcelona chiefs have been preparing for weeks for talks which could officially begin on January 1 if Moukoko does not sign a new deal in Dortmund.
What could hold Barcelona back could be their financial situation and the amount of world-class talent. The Catalans already have Robert Lewandowski (34), Ferran Torres (22) and others. If Moukoko wants normal football, he may not get it right away at Barcelona.
