Brazil reached the round of 16 after a 2-0 win over Serbia to kick off their World Cup campaign. Later, Brazil were impressive in a 1-0 win over Switzerland but went down 1-0 to Cameroon as the five-time champions produced a mixed game to close out group play.
South Korea had a much more difficult road to the round of 16, needing a Uruguayan stumble in La Celeste’s final group game against Ghana to advance, on goal difference. South Korea started with a boring 0-0 draw with Uruguay, followed by a 3-2 defeat to Ghana and a 2-1 upset win against Portugal.
